I guess traditionally pigs and peonies don’t really go together in chinese painting? My LaoZhi certainly thought it was weird! But in my mind since I think in English, it rhymed and sounded good together! ;0) So I painted this because peonies are my favourite flowers to paint and pigs are the theme. I wanted to depict a family with the children trusting and following their parent, looking into the future of 2019, wherever the road takes them but towards happiness and prosperity.
