Inkston is a registered trade mark and was founded by Luo Yan to bring the best traditional craftsmanship from China and making it available to the world. Unless stated specifically, all the Inkston products are handcrafted. Chinese silks, silver and art materials developed to a very high level over 1,000 years ago. Some of the traditional workshops still survive, producing the same high quality output. These workshops are increasingly under threat from the modern world. We want to help Xuan paper and other highly developed craftsmanship to reach wider audience through the global internet and to continue to pass on and develop their living traditions for generations to come.
